Erased

Written in 3 months, from November 2008-January 2009, Erased is largely an album featuring songs written in light of the global financial crisis, the ending Bush era, and Israel’s war with Gaza. Most of the tracks focus on the plight of the Palestinians, with “Barrier”, “Move”, “Home”, and “Outrage”. These songs mingle with a mix of like observations, such as with the IMF in “Screw” and the CIA in “Erased”. “Numb” and “Down” are more personal, and in fact written some time ago (both songs were reworked for Erased). Last is “Quicksand” which is mostly a call for action: “Make it loud and louder than the time before!”

Recording

Propellerhead’s Reason was utilized for drum recording and other special programmed effects. Direct audio was recorded using a hodgepodge of hardware and software including Cakewalk Pro Audio, GarageBand, M-Audio Firewire 410, and a Eurorack MX 602A.
